On a "mental health" vacation day. That means, starting up the Triumph, putting on the gear, and getting out of Dodge.

replaced 1 of the 2 rear shackles. took about an hour so I suspect that the next shackle should be about the same length of time since rusted on bolts can be a pain to get off.

I went and bought mower deck parts, looked at some guitars, rebuilt a mower deck, had lunch, mowed a lawn, went and looked at more guitars, went and bought a tent and an air pad. Diner and a couple of beers and I won't make anymore trouble today.

road back from a weekend in the mountains. great weekend with my wife, two daughters (3 & 1), mother in law, father in law and brother in law. f-i-l, b-i-l and i took our bikes and the ladies road in the tahoe. the weather was great. until today when we came back. about 50 degrees and raining. and if that weren't bad enough, i wear glasses and for the first 30 minutes they were fogging up so bad i couldn't see out of them.
but, we made it home, i got a hot shower and took a nap. it was a great weekend.

Rode to work in the rain and rode home in the glorious sunshine.
Hunted down and punished a few local Vancouverites who supported the Blackhawks.
Did my civic duty and voted in the Provincial election, with a bit of luck that drunk driving bas tard and his lying group of arse kissers will be shown the door this time around, but I'm not putting any money on it.
And most importantly, rescued from my office fridge a small but rather expensive block of three year old white cheddar cheese, the real stuff. Bought it a few days before I had my accident almost forgot about it. Had a slice on a small whole wheat roll with butter, and OMFG, the taste, the taste. I have come to the conclusion that we are fast forgetting what REAL food taste like, what with pasteurization, homogenization and blandification. Nothing like a bit of cheese that has a bit of a bite to it and can clear your sinus's.
