Sat next to a hospital bed in Peterborough, Ontario, yesterday and today watching a beloved member of my wife's family slowly dying of brain cancer, lung cancer and the after effects of a recent major stroke.

Why is it that only the good people get hit with this "poo poo"? Why don't all the murderers, rapists and psychopaths get to suffer like this?

I "procreating" hate hospitals.

They do friend, you just don't get to hear about it that's all. Cancer is an equal opportunity killer, don't matter if you are good or evil, male or female, black or white, young or old.

I've been where you are too many times my friend and I know its hard, I'd say it's even harder on those watching and waiting then it is on those that are dying. My uncle was taken by Bladder Cancer, and he was a good man. My Grandfather was taken by Prostate Cancer at the age of 90, and he was a good man.

My father was taken by Prostrate Cancer as well, and I really cannot honestly say he was a good man as he was a border line Sociopath, habitual liar, fraud and wife beater. However he was my father and I was there for him during his final week and I rode in his memory last week as well as in my Grandfather's.

I would offer you my prayers friend, but I just don't believe in a God, however I give you my support and if you need to talk, just give me a shout.

Chris

ceemes is right--they do. I've had to take care of them both on cancer wards and regular wards, and once, on a designated prison ward. They are kept apart from the regular hospital population--private room with a guard or two.

But that doesn't take away the pain of losing someone you love, slowly and before your eyes. I am sorry, Gummi.

Last night I watched my neighbors house burn down.
There was no one home fortunately but the house is completely lost.

It really sucks because they are good people. My son and their daughter have been going to school together since pre K and are pretty good friends. He would go swimming over there a lot too.

I hope they decide to rebuild there and not move. I would hate to lose a good neighbor.

Just when you think your life sucks and go boo hooing about stupid stuff something like this happens and puts it right into perspective.
