Just because someone doesn't fit into your tiny mind's pre-concieved mold of what a biker should be like does not they are dumb or wannabes. Make sure you tell those guys with the half-hemets and "big dumb ape hangers" that are "trying to be cool" that you can't stand them when they are the first to stop and help you when you get stranded on the side of the road.

Gee I've never seen anyone in full leathers and a racing helmet and boots standing around sportsbikes in front of Starbucks or Abercrombie & Fitch thinking that they are looking sooo cool.

Let me see you walk on water, or better ride your, what kind of bike do you ride?, across water then you have room to talk down to other bikers.

I have respect for the people who ride to ride, not the people who ride because they think it'll impress someone else, that's just a side benefit to me.

I've got an FM lid at home inn almost exactly the same condition. I get it out every once in a while to remind myself it could have been my face.

At the end of the day what someone apart from me chooses to wear on their bike is there problem with two exceptions. My son and a pillion - in which case they will wear what I am comfortable with.

When we are out in the car and see a bike on the side of the road we pull over if its safe and check it out whatever the bike is. The cruiser guy who checked me out after my spill in Oxfordshire wasn't bothered by the L plates or my bike being a standard.

As a large number of the death and injury posts made to the site in the last couple of weeks testify, it's us against them out there and we need all the help we can get.

Abercrombie and Fitch is a clothing store known for using quasi-child-popcorn in their ads. They made the news quite a few times last year.

The acceleration on my bike in any gear would rip the skin off my face, make me bald and pin my ears to my head, OH and we get some really weird bugs in Africa too. Not good eating. As it is Ihave to super glue my helmet on.
