Buell's have lots of cool technology. Too bad they had to ruin it by using a Harley motor...

What's wrong with the motor? Who do you know that had a thunderstorm motor and had problems with it?

Have you ever riden anything with a Harley Motor?
I think thats what makes Buells great it gives them tons of character.You have a great bikes that are designed for the real world the only problem is that they cost more than the japanese V-Twin Sports.

What's wrong with the motor?
It's low tech and doesn't match the rest of the bike, which does have lots of innovative technology.

It would be like designing the latest Air Force fighter around the engine from the F-86 Sabre.

I can see what your saying XM but then it would be like every japanese V Twin out there.The Harley engines are very grunty and they are relativly up to date now with FI and such.I think if it has modern engine it wouldnt be Buell and would loose all its character.

Hrm, I still think you need to test ride an 1203cc Buell... The rev-limit doesn't kick in until right before red-line. If you are bouncing off the rev-limit on this bike you ride hard as hell, which is good but still hard to imagine =)

they just need to get it over with and MAKE the revolution engine fit in the lighting, so what if they may have a stretch it an inch or two. IMHO the revolution motor just begs to be put into a sportbike.

I just picked up a 2001 blast for my wife, its a pretty simple bike but it does have its touches like putting the oil in the frame, and it has the low mounted exhaust

The rev-limiter will be set slightly above red-line (or it would defeat the purpose of having a red-line). I have owned and ridden a lot of bikes and the narrow power-band was just my observation....and I didn't really have to push to have issues with it. I would recommend that you also ride a Japanese or Italian sport-twin yourself to make the comparison. Then I believe that you will understand what I am talking about.
