I had to have the expirienced course to be able to drive on a military post. The class was taught on post for free, so the instuctors would not hesitate to boot some one for not being able. Then if a person was to get booted the instuctors would call your CO tell on you. SO my class was truely a great lesson

There are lots of testimonials out there about great motorcycle teachers. While I believe that there are good ones out there, I haven't met them. Some of the ones that I have met have been riding for less than a couple of years and haven't yet mastered basic skills themselves. The teacher for my wifes course took them to wash the bikes the first night.....and then turned the group left across the TransCanada highway with 9 new riders on wet tires  They headed out on to the highway before they even knew how to start the bikes themselves......it goes on and on
I KNOW that there are good ones out there, but I suggest that anyone considering a course check around to make sure they are the real deal....

I would consider calling MSF and expressing your concerns. My class was the total opposite. They discussed gear alot especially since it gets so hot down here that it's easy to go with out it.

Without constructive criticsim things wont change and these guys will continue teaching the class to other new riders in exactly the same way...

Write up your concerns, your observations and submit them to the MSF.
