When I take the course, I'm going to bring my own helmet. I don't feel like putting on a helmet lots of other people have put on. I'm sure it is clean, but I just would rather use mine as I'm the only one to use it.

I guess the KISS principle applies. Full face is the way to go for me. As for the rating of the helmets, i do remember reading about DOT testing. They said then about the same as they are saying now. DOT is for the street under normal legal riding and the snell rating was for the track
