I'm too young to really like any 80s music, except for bands like Metallica. I listen to basically anything but country. My favorite type of music is metal though. Can't get enough of that. Metal is music too
for those who think it is just a bunch of screaming.

Metal has guitars and drums and actual instruments, so of course it's music.
How old are you? I'm 19 and love the 60s-80s stuff.

I'm only 18. I'm not really exposed to the classic rock and 80s stuff, so I never got into it. I said the whole metal is music because I know people who think it is just a bunch of people screaming, escpecially girls.

I love 80s music. I love a good variety of stuff, mostly jazz, some classical, hard rock I was into in high school and I listen to it every once and a while. I went through a 'country' phase, too (cute girl in HS listened to country, nuff said).
Seems like everyone you ask these days say they 'listen to just about everything'...yeah right. What they really mean is that they have no taste in music other than what the local stations play over and over, a mix of hiphop, pop, country/pop crossovers, etc. If its not in the top 40 they've never heard of it. Every once and a while they'll grab a punkrock CD and listen to it so they feel original. You wont find them enjoying classical, or a good opera, or polka, or international, or the thousands of songs that they would never listen to without their DJ's endorsement.

Ah I hate people like that. My roommate does that.
I never even knew there WAS a Top 40s chart. But then again most the stuff I listen to is classic rock and in this day and age they don't top the chart much...at all.
The only time I listen to stuff other than classic rock is when I'm at home and can get it off my computer. I don't have much CD carrying space in my car and I reserve those spaces for what non-classic rock I can but generally I just flip on the radio to a CR station and leave it be.
But I love when someone is playing rap as loud as they can with their windows down. I'll pull out a classic CD and play Flight of the Bumblebee or Ode to Joy or something and crank it up as loud as it can go. I get some interesting looks..

My new cage has XM radio.... I have 250 channels of what ever I want... w00t. I will not be limited to my 3 channels up here any mmore!

Congrats! I got Sirius in my suv a year ago, and ever since my wife has been egging me to get it in her car. Once you experience satellite, you never want to go back to regular radio.
The $12 a month it costs is MORE than worth it for so many music choices (there is only 1 jazz station where I live and it doesnt even play real jazz most of the time), plus no commercials and very little DJ breaks. Regular radio, your commute to work will be spent listening to some person or persons carry on about nonsense and make farting noises or prank calls.
Radio is worthless, but I guess you cant expect much for free.
