To paraphrase the review, the Triumph triple "splits the difference between V-twin torque and four cylinder horsepower, with a nice boost in the midrange". I've never ridden a triple, but if that's how they lay down power then it sounds to me like a great configuration.
I chose 3 cylinder. Seems to be about the perfect comprimise between a peaky inline 4 and a torquey twin. Not to mention they also sound incredible.
menage a trois anyone? :D
Errr....uhhhh....I'm flattered but, no.

I've heard this over and over but when I investigated, I found that my hayabusa has more torque than any v-twin listed in motorcyclist magazine on their spec chart. The only bike to out-torque it was the Goldwing, whis is also a four. I guess you may have to give up the torque thing too. At least v-twins sound cool.

I just realised something...

what is the prefect number of cylinders.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

I love the V-Four...can't mistake that rumble. And because I am a proud owner of '96 VMAX.

are you talking max torque or at a certain rpm? because, as far as i have read, dont twins make more torque down low than a I4 on most cases?

I just took the numbers out of Motorcyclist magazine, here are some examples.

Honda Goldwing '01 torque is 109.9@4250
Vrod 74.3@7000
road glide 86.4@2750

I have nothing more to go on.
