i picked up a used EX250 yesterday and rode it home in the same gear i use when i ride my shadow. Full faced helmet, leather icon jacket with armor, gloves, good boots and chaps! yes chaps on a sport bike, oh the humanity, i will be teased by everyone till the day i die because i wore chaps on a sport bike. may have looked "silly" but crashing at low speed once proved to me that jeans just don't cut it

I probably under-dress for rides sometimes, when the weather is nice, but I don't do it for the sake of some redneck image, but just because I feel mentally challenged or extremely uncomfortable in layers of armor on a hot day.

I think I may try and get some elbow pads for days like this.

I know what you mean about feeling hot and uncomfortable in full gear. That's why I got a too-big mesh jacket to start. Air blows right through it and even at low speeds it doesn't really add any warmth...but it offers better-than-nothing protection in a crash.

Mine is oversized enough that I can put on a standard leather jacket under it if I'm cold.

hes had some wicked crashes and some nasty looking scars to prove it, you see what he did to his leg in his blog viewtopic.php?t=5840 and just imagine what would happen if he didnt have gear on. . . that could be why he has it in his profile :)

Yeah, in the Dennis Kirk catalogue you can get arm armor and knee w/ shin armor made by Icon. They're like $50 for each.

Think for yourself, don't worry about what anyone else thinks you should look like. Vanity is for the vain.
Well said.

All I have to say is if you don't want to bother protecting yourself, you better have some good medical insurance cuz I don't wanna have to pick up the tab.
