By 97 I think ford had bought out Mazda as well, so the B3000 series is a ford ranger with a different grill.

ok, i will also try to look into 97 rangers then.
Well, that's one of your original choices, so i was trying to toss up some info on it. The 2001 and older rangers will be cheaper than the 02+, as that's when the body style changed to the new/big one.

Word of advice. Stay away from any mazda's with rotary engines. They eat gaskets for breakfast. And good luck finding a mechanic that can work on one.

As a fun test sometime whenever you see an old RX-7 ask the person what they do for a living. 9 outta 10 times they're a mechanic.

Just a word pf advice. If it's old, it's bound to have problems with it now, or get them sooner than a newer vehicl. If it's worth getting the MR2, and paying the upkeep, go for it! But if you have just enough to get the car and the basic stuff (tires, filters, etc) than think long and hard about it.

did you just change your username???

anyway... yeah, i hope whatever car i get, i hope it doesn't give me constant problems.

i don't mind replacing old parts but i just hope i don't get the same problems over and over again.

seeing as i'll get lojack and a chain for the next bike... i'll only be using the car as backup.

although, if the girl im talking about on the other topic becomes my GF... then i'll be using the car a little more. :D
