Who says she was below the speed limit? The person who couldn't drive well enough to keep from rear-ending her? They've demonstrated poor driving skills and judgement so you can't believe them.
AFAIK brake checks are a way for a driver to get a marginal vehicle replaced on someone else's dime. I've never used them 'cause I rarely drive vehicles I don't like... but I've never put myself in a position where someone else could use one against me either. Anyone who does deserves what they get.

I agree. FYI it was my step-dad who called the cops after making sure she was okay.

Biggest object I have ever ridden safely over?
A mountain.

hmm, I have hit a pothole at 40mph that was big enough to cause my CX500 to nearly go airborne, it got light enough that it started to twist, luckily I saw the pothole right before I hit it (it was more of a large depression in the pavement that was hard to see), didn't have time to swerve but had enough time to stand up on the pegs to take the impact.
Also discovered a 6 inch drop in a dealers parking lot, luckily I was only going 5mph and was able to stand up in time or I would have racked myself LOL.
As for objects, the 4x4s that we had to ride over during the MSF (the wyoming MSF makes you drive over a 4x4 and a 2x4) are the biggest objects I have run over, and that was on a dual sport so it wasn't bad at all.
I have swerved around a number of dead truck tires, a roadkill skunk, and a rusty muffler (glad I missed this one it probably would have shredded my tires)

Rocky Racoon at 50 mph. Front wheel and forks took it pretty good, but the rear didn't like it at all!!! Back tire came up off the road about a good foot and a half. Sure gets freaky trying to control nearly 900 lbs of dresser when it decides to dance on it's nose.

not something I ran over, but a truck in the opposite lane hit a 2X4 and sent it flying at me. Luckily, I saw it coming and it was high enough that all I had to do was duck. Could have been horrific.....

Ran over a weed wacker on the 405 N. at Manchester...some stupid illegal alien gardner didn't secure it. No damage to bike...just some crunching noise and pieces of wacker flying everywhere.
