UMASS Amherst has dual T3 lines. Well, they did, i think they upgraded a year ago.
the college I used to go to was tied into the state of wyomings fiber backbone network which is incredibly fast.
I use 1.5mbps DSL at home which is pretty decent most of the time. Its slower than cable at its fastest but faster than cable on a busy night
