liability doesnt replace gear/bike if something happens.DirtyD86 wrote:two words for you guys. liability only.

If you have an old bike, like the original poster, full coverage could cost you more in one or two years than it would cost to replace the bike.ofblong wrote:liability doesnt replace gear/bike if something happens.DirtyD86 wrote:two words for you guys. liability only.

Whether or not to insure beyond liability is going to depend on whether or not you could afford to replace the bike.
I have a friend that automatically insures everything to the hilt. When he told me that he had full coverage on his 25 yr. old Yamaha, I couldn't believe it. When I actually looked at his coverage document, he was paying $250/yr. for the extra coverage. His bike was worth $750 and there was a $200 deductable. In a nutshell, every two years, he had fully paid the insurance company what would be the maximum they would pay him if the bike were stolen/crashed into a brick wall. A complete waste of money.
