Well it looks like I'll be working. Anyone for mid-August?
Would depend on the dates. Maybe septmber would be better with everyone back to school.
Now wouldn't be any good either... I'm in Ontario!
I guess we'll see how it goes. August sometime I am thinking of heading to Kelowna too.

let's see, july, august, september... 30 tanks of fuel later and it will be time to come up with a date near Halloween for the trip. As i recall, it's usually just a bit chilly near Halloween and one needs a little break to acclimate to the cold whether, make costumes and such, then November is a fine month for riding....

I rode until the middle of November last year. Nice dry pavement, no snow.
As long as the road is dry and clear of ice, I'll ride.

Last year was a bit of an annomoly though wasn't it??? Usually a fair bit of snow kicking around by then isn't there? My daughters live in Calgary and they were surprised at how mild your winter was last year...
Now this spring, that's another story. I was in town a couple of times and thought I was still on the wet coast... lol...

Nah... the whether here has been wacky (yet warmer) for more than 5 years (spoken as a native Calgarian). Sometimes you can ride all season long, a week or two or maybe only a day or two any month of the year...
HOWEVER... my comment was partially in jest, as you just never know what the heck will happen in October. The thermometer almost always seems to plummet a day or two before Halloween and it snows. i.e. kids should plan there costume as a werewolf or equally furry animal for halloween. it sort of sucks. Maybe we'll finally get lucky this year.
Maybe Halloween in BC would be a good idea for us Albertans this year !!!!
BTW- you can ride in light snow with the right gear/attitude/skills. Tires make most of the difference and a light bike is best (like dualsport). It's still a tricky game thoug and chosing the right bike is important... one wouldn't want to risk a '05 GSXR, as it's important to be prepared for the inevitable spill.
i miss those twisties in BC.. boo hoo... need a trip. guess that means gotta earn more money so i'ze can take a holiiiiday.
More info after yesterdays "30 tanks of fuel" post: here's a web-site for finding bargain fuel:

I rode till December 7th last year, but only because I had surgery on the 8th. Was back on the bike January 16th. Weather seems to be getting better in the winter months here.

If we're going on the 30/31 I'm totally in. Whyte can I swing through Red Deer on friday afternoon or night and meet up with you somewhere? The head out to Calgary together? (Assuming that's where we're leaving from)
If that weekend isn't an option I'd say 13 /14 or 27/28
Since when is a wedding held on a Sunday??

I am off Aug.19-22, then again Sept 2-5.
Next weekend, actually Aug 3-9, me and Lana are riding to Kelowna. Leaving afterwork on the 3rd and probably staying the night in Calgary before heading into the mountains..... anyone in for a little ride west about then?
