You should be able to cruise at 55mph with no problems. I'm 225 and I cruise at 50 @ half throttle in 5th (Im still in my break-in period). I would think most 250's will get you to 65mph with little fuss. Although if you are 6'3, I would definitely try out a lot of bikes to make sure you fit comfortably. Most of the 250's are very cramped. Go read that cruiser comparison link at http://www.motorcyclecruiser.com/roadtests/250s03/ it is helpful.

Also, at 275 lbs, you would probably be fine on a 500cc cruiser to start, as long as you take your MSF and learn proper techniques to controlling a motorcycle.

Also, Kal, didn't mean to be stuffy, or seem like I needed to get out... I just saw your statement as a bit of false information, and an exaggeration, which might mislead new people concerning the power of bikes. But for your information, it was BEAUTIFUL outside today, I took a nice ride this morning. Think the temp was 76 degrees F.

Find a bike that feels comfortable to you, You should sit on many bikes and see how they feel to sit on and imagine sitting on them for a few hours, you dont want your knees at your ears. You should find a 500 to 750 that fits you nicely.

Thanks so much! Yea, I plan on taking the course to make sure I really like riding before I make this investment. As a college student, I have to be careful where I spend my money. Thanks again.
