So thinking that I may not be the right kind of guy to sit on a Ninja nonetheless, I went to sit on a 250 nearby for fun. Not a bad fit at all. Actually a pretty good fit. Trust me the story gets better....
I get back to work and start perusing craigslist.com. and low and behold I find a EX250-F15R with only 7,600 miles on it for $1650! Posted earlier that day. I think to myself there is no way but I give him a call and he still has it (with buyers comming tomorrow afternoon). All the bike has is a little cosmetic dammage from a standstill fall. I will be going to see it and mabe buying it at noon

WOW! so 250 has more room than 500? that's amazing.

so i guess that's how the other 300lb guy was able to manage on his 250.

You should know this Verm, bigger does not mean more room. In fact your bike will have closer ergos then the ninjas.

that much i know that my bike will have closer ergos than the ninja250s since mine is a sportbike.

but i thought the ninja 250 and 500 is the same bike just that the 500 is bigger in both phsyical size and engine size.

You know what they say about assumptions...

the "stand still fall" is possibly a load of crap, but that's a good price so as long as it's mechanically sound and you know it's been dropped that should make you less nervous about dropping it because it's already been done.

It's not that cut and dried, which is why we tell everyone to go sit on one before deciding. In the Ninja's case, the 500 has a wider tank which seems to get in the way of some long legged rider's knees. The 250's narrow tank actually fits better for some.

There are too many variables to be able to guess at it. It's not only total height vs. inseam. It's also the distance between your foot and your knee that make a big difference.

x2, when I started looking at bikes, I noticed how different they all were. I could go from one sportbike to the next and they ALL felt different.

What gets me is when you go to the department store and try on jeans. You get Levi 559 of one size in dark, and the Levi 559 in the SAME SIZE in washed fits differently...whats up with that??

the 250 has a better tank. the tank ridges on the 500 make it un-sit-on-able for guys like F and me. (im 6'2" 240ish) but the 250 is a comfortable fit. even after 1600 miles on it i still have no regrets going with the 250. i went for a "spirited" ride tonight and had a blast. gotta watch out or i'm going to get a speeding ticket but its so much fun to have a bike that you can accually use all 6 gears.

So as many of you already read, I will be going to see the bike today. I have a few questions that I was going to ask on my own and was wondering if anyone had some additions to the list:

1. How was the bike broken in?
2. How did it drop and what damage was made?
2. Are you the original owner? If not how was the original owner?
3. Why are you selling it?
4. Ask about any visible damage to the bike and how it happened.
5. Other questions about his riding, chit chat like that...

Are there other things I should be looking for besides those things? Is there a place where I can check the VIN for discrepancies?

Can't wait to see the bike!
