Riding any bike with any helmet above about 45 MPH or so for more than 15 minutes results in permanent hearing loss. It's not much now but it's cumulative.
Read, learn, save your hearing.

If you love your hearing...and I think we all do...then for longer rides you'd be smart to wear plugs. I wear them on longer rides with my full-face helmet.
I want to be able to hear when I am 60.

I haven't been wearing them because I thought that it would muffle everything. Kinda like riding with your fingers in your ear type of thing... After reading a couple of posts and seeing that it really dosen't muffle everything im more inclined to try it. I have noticed a decline in my hearing and increased headaches. I've actualy ridden behind a guy with screaming eagles pipes and they've been so lound that I actually cring.
Is there any brand or style in particular that is better?

Just get the cheap ones that you roll between your fingers to soften them up and insert into your ear. Make sure you follow the directions - grab your ear with your opposite hand, over/behind your head - and insert.
You can get a box of 'em for cheap at wally world, or any hardware store.

Perhaps the opposite. The fit is pretty personal and plugs that might be perfectly comfortable and work well for me might be too big, or too small, for you. Try a few styles out and see what you like best.

shaw's carrys a style that looks ribbed, big circular ribs, they feel softer and less pressure on my ears, I was wearing the standard type before but they had enough internal pressure to make my left ear bleed after a week of usage, these ones dont have that problem.

For an example of what I meant by personal fit: I hate those ribbed foam plugs mentioned above... they don't expand out enough to really hold in my ears unless I push them in so far that it can be painful...
