I can now add The Cascade Mountain Loop to the list of long rides.

Last weekend me and my friend rode close to 700 miles. My stamina is improving. I think it may have something to do with being more confident with my riding skills because I am less tense.
Being more relaxed has helped to reduce fatigue and shoulder and neck pain.

Well, like Sweet Tooth, I haven't had any huge coast to coast rides yet. Heck, I just made it outof my county a few weeks ago! But I did do a ride with Bill a few weekends ago that took us about 90-95 miles. We just grabbed the map, and grabbed some throttle. We meandered around some roads I haven't been on since I was a little kid. Local stuff can be pretty interesting. Anyway, someday I will work up to a big full weekend away from home type ride....but for now, just under 100 miles is my limit.

Just keep building on it...last weekend I did just under 500 miles between Saturday and Sunday. I'm looking forward to another good run in two weeks when I head up to Tampa for the weekend.

I'm so proud of my daughter! The two of us finally got to do Skyline Drive on my bike.

We left early afternoon on Friday and got to the park entrance at Front Royal, Va at about 3pm. The trip was amazing!! We took some neat pictures. . . saw a BEAR!! (Stupid tourists had stopped traffic and were taking pictures!! meanwhile me and dd are sitting two cars back without a metal cage around us. Fortunately the car behind US was a park ranger.)

We made it to mile 80 and camped at Loft Mountain campground. In the morning we packed up and did the remaining 25 miles then 45 miles of the Blue Ridge Parkway before bailing out and catching I-81 back home.

Round trip was 490 miles.

I live about 5 minutes from the Adirondack Park, in Galway, NY

Longest day - 235 miles home to Westport (Lake Champlain Area) then back down.

Longest weekend - Saturday - tooled around locally, then up around Great Sacandaga Lake, down through Luzurne - 130 miles. Then, Sunday, my house, to Greenfield, then up to Indian Lake, down through Warrensburg, Lake George, to home again - 145 miles. Weekend total 275.

If I go out, I do at least 50 miles. Last night I did about 65. I do run to the store for cigs, too, but, once I'm out, I hate to come home

What about solo riding? I want to ride to visit friends in Florida and Texas. Those are trips I would do alone in my car without hesitation, but I'm not so sure about riding the bike. What kind of experiences have y'all had with long distance solo riding?

I'll let you know on Monday, I'm taking my first solo trip this weekend from Miami to Tampa for a girls weekend out. It'll be around 548 miles round trip.

I rode to Vernon and back alone. It's a few hundred miles each way. But, then it was all in my same province and I was familiar with the highway.

I don't know what it's like going from state to state. Or the types of highways you would have to travel.

It was quite a feeling of accomplishment for me to have gone by myself. And truth be told, I actually enjoyed it.

Probably one of the few times that loud pipes could actually save lives.

That's one of my favorite rides in the area and my preferred, if longer, way of going down to Charlottesville. I'm hoping to take bluemonkie through it before the end of the season if she's feeling up to it.
