funny thing is that when the news showed them riding through town they all looked like the stereotypical Harley dudes with leather vests and all and an american flag on the back of the bike.

it looked like the leader wasn't wearing a helmet o_O

If a debate among American riders ensue, keep it clean and such.

For those in other countries the US is stuck on the issue of illegal immigration and the fate of those here illegally is up in the air.
Heh... don't worry about that being a bad mark on bikers, check out the polls... almost no one wants them here.
LOL!! I thought you were talking about bikers. No one wants us either.

The outsourcing of good jobs to other countries is compounded by environmental laws (and the enforcement and/or lack of enforcement of those laws) in other countries as well.

The wealth of the United States & the EU is bringing up the wealth of other countries as well, altho slowly. When the wealth of another country rises [and so do the wages] the corporations will move onto the next country.
When they run out of countries the jobs will come back to the United States & the EU. This will take decades to achieve.

I'm not saying its right or wrong thats just the way it is.

Illegal immigration is a topic I already chimed in on before in another thread.
Altho, I don't get tired of discussing it.

First I would ask does anyone here know what it takes to become a US citizen ? And how difficult that is ? Maybe the process should be streamlined more and made easier. Hint: it takes a minimum of 5yrs (in special circumstances it can be 3yrs) to become a legal US citizen.

Immigrants are not stealing jobs from Americans. They are doing jobs no American wants to do because the wages are too low. No American can live on $7.25 an hour. And at those wages I doubt they could afford healthcare either.

Illegal immigrants are not draining the healthcare system. The US healthcare system its self, the rx industry, and the US Govt are draining the system. They are using [illegal immigration] as a smoke screen to divert the populaces attention away from that. Does anyone believe if all illegal healthcare expenditures were stopped tomorrow that the cost of healthcare would decrease at all ? The same argument can be made for the school systems as well.

We should be proud to live in a country where people are willing to risk everything [including thier lives] just to get here. I don't hear of people doing this to enter Germany or any other country for that matter. And if its so bad here in America why aren't we seeing US citizens leaving and rowing boats to Cuba on the news ? I haven't seen a single one yet.

My general take on this along with flag burning, gay marriage, and steroids in baseball. The US Govt and its paid for congress critters are using these topics to divert attention away from the REAL ISSUES that challenge America. Those issues in no particular order are;

Dependency on foreign oil & the cost of all energy in general
Military expenditures (the single biggest expenditure of the US Federal budget)
US school systems (altho I don't think that can be fixed)
The wittling away of our rights (think patriot act)
Taxation (its way too high no matter what state you live in)
Growth of federal power and growth of the executive branches power.
(Anyone remember from history class that the United States is really 50 independant countries united by a constitution) ?
US healthcare (it should be available to everyone no matter your income)
rx industries.
Growth of laws especially the growth of illegal drug laws. We have way too many people in prison. Its time to re-examine those laws and remove some. (ever hear of the 85% mandatory rule) ?
The coporitism of America especially the way they buy influence in congress.
Religion creeping into the Govt
Pollution

I could go on and on forever if only I had the time.

... i'm an imigrant. But I'm legal. Took me 9 bloody years, and XXXXXX amount of money for lawyer costs to get my residency. Do you guys hate me now?

But as far as illegal imigrants - If all you do is sell drugs, and cause trouble in US - get a hell outta here. But what about those who just want to have better life here, and they been forces to do crappy jobs, and poor lifestyle in their original country?
If you are working hard to stay here - I don't see a problem. But if you are with "mens rea" - we will have a problem.

THere you are. My word has been said on this beautiful night, and Now, i'm out to bed. Peace!

I say get in line and come here legally... Americans want to keep USA a sovereign nation, not a come here and send all the money earn home to your country/family free-for-all.

This viewpoint is way off base. I can gurantee that the amount of money legal & illegal immigrants in the US send back to their families. Pales in comparison with the amount of money that is leaving the US and winding up in rich foreigners hands who never stepped inside the US once. Said rich foreigners then buy US property & US Govt debt securities. America is up for sale wether you like it or not. (look in this weeks Sunday paper for a valuable 2 for 1 coupon)
