premium is running a bit over 2.90/gal here. bike gets premium and the car gets mid grade which is 10 cents cheaper.

Premium is the only thing I can feed my bike with according to the mfg.

$3.13 gal - 38 mpg

Even at that or $10 gal still worth every penny to enjoy the freedom of riding.

Premium gas is a waste of $$$ unless your manual tells you that you need it. Start using regular and use the saved $$$ to spend on a date that doesn't inflate.

my car only requires 87 so thats what I put in it. unfortunately 87 octane is mid grade up here. stations in wyoming and colorado are allowed to sell 85 octane gas which is completely worthless.

the bike requires 91 octane so thats what it gets.

on the upside even premium is under 3$/gallon around here.

I have seen a few stations down in colorado that are around 3.40/gallon for premium. Most are right around where VTX quoted

Damn that sucks! I'd never buy a car or bike that required premium gas.

Both of our bikes as well as our car require using premium gas. It's going anywhere from $2.90 - $3.20 around here. It's killer to fill up the car. The good thing is... if we don't continually romp on the turbo and just drive it like a little 4-cylinder, we can save a lot of gas. And during the summer we only use the car for grocery shopping and family events. A full tank will go a long way.

Each of the bikes gets about 40 MPG, so we do go through a bit of gas to keep ourselves happy on the bikes. But we don't spend a lot of money on other frivolities, so I don't feel too bad about it.

Cheers,
Loonette
