A guy at the track day I worked at today wore one of those XR-2's. It was sorta nifty, not as eye opening as the guy in the Suomy Spec-1R Extreme with the flourescent green shield (an instructor who was going pretty fast at that)

Yet when you have no reason to talk about yourself you disappear.
Seems rather shallow.

if by participating and sharing you mean hijacking other's threads (and blogs) to talk about yourself, then you're correct. it's rare to see a thread that you haven't jacked and posted an obscenely large picture on.

seriously verm, we get it, live near hollywood, must look like star, great. stop pretending you are not doing things so other people think you look cool. Once in a while a cool new bike pic is nice, but how many per day? and yes, its related, you think something is cool, you want to test your opinion with others'....
as far as tear off's, no, just no. First off, racers are on closed courses, those tear offs they use are picked up later by track personelle, you will just be littering. Or you will have to put it in your pocket every time you take it off. I mean really, how hard is it to spit on your shield, wipe it around with a gloved finger and wipe off on your riding pants? are you THAT lazy that you want tear offs? I think you are trying to be racer boy look at me I'm cool please tell me I am cool cause the public opinion of me is what matters. in that cause, yes, its for yourself. Just ride, try not to do anything but change the oil (sure go synthetic, the pros all do and its cool) fill the tank and twist the throttle. just, try

This is a first for me...but I'm actually going to take Verm's side here. So he wants tear offs and helmets he really doesn't need. So he posts alot and yes, even talks about himself. And just to think, he does it all on a MOTORCYCLE COMMUNITY FORUM!
Part of the community is sharing passions my friends. If we all liked exactly the same aspects of riding and motorcycling this forum would get stale and boring. Verm is probably the most active member on here, even if 75% of his posts don't have alot of relevence to most of us, they're usually good for a good chuckle or a different idea.
So stop bashing Verm because he's interested in tear offs or a performance exhaust. It's what HE enjoys. He's playing to HIS passions, not yours ya jerks! Even if you don't agree with some of his ideas you don't have to throw them back in his face!
Try this, just once. Instead of bashing him just don't post a reply or try even posting something constructive to the topic. Offer your own personal views without attacking him and see where it gets you. Who knows, you might even learn something about yourself.

well ok, really i was just gonna comment on the very non-green action using tearoffs on the street would likely be.

I mean I AM from VT

and we take environment very seriously...

. then I got all ranty, I do that sometimes, I mean I AM slightly dichotomous so its all in there.
