I feel this is a bad reasoning. I can talk on the cell phone and drive without any issues but then again I am good at multi tasking so assuming those with cellphones cause accidents is a wrong assumption. its those that cant multitask that cause accidents.
You may be good at multi-tasking but your common sense sucks. The attention you're paying to your phone call is a distraction from your driving. 'Nuf said.
I have more common sense than you most likely do. I ignore my cell phone and concentrate on driving unlike some people I know. I am always getting yelled at by my wife while she is attempting to talk to me because I ignore her paying attention to what im doing rather than talking to her. Again some people are good at multitasking others are not so its the multi tasking part that causes accidents not being able to do one thing or another.

No one said those that use cell phones are going to cause an accident, but people talking on cellphones while driving are definitely more likely than someone paying attention solely to driving to cause an accident. It is very simple. The more things you are doing, the less attention you can give to one particular thing. Like Duck said, it is common sense  .

You didn't really say that, did you? How could you know from a couple posts how much common sense he has compared to you. Like I said before, this not your problem because you won't die if you make a mistake on your phone (most likely).

hehe well ok now that I have thought about how I should correctly answer this.

I am not telling someone to not think of every driver they see on a cell phone as a possible threat. by all means I think that is the right thing to do. I am just trying to point out that not everyone has an issue with driving and talking at the same time. I dont normally talk on the cell and drive anyways cause well I dont like to do it but sometimes you have no choice esp when it comes to a pregnant wife lol. I am by no means an expert bike rider (heck just got my endorsement on monday lol). Cell phones dont cause accidents but people cause accidents.

Cell Phones

Every cager driving like a total dumb a$%, that I was able to see the driver, was blabbing mindlessly on their cell phone. Idiots :frusty:

Sure, there are people who can drive and talk but with today's technology get a blue tooth wireless headset, tape it to you ear and have fun with both hands on the wheel and both eyes on the road.

Worst thing in the world is for a biker in their cage to kill another rider because they were blabbing on their cell phone.

Cell phones + driving = dead or injured bikers.

Hands free doesn't matter by the way... studies have been done and the degredation in driving quality is identical with handset, headset, or speaker phone style hands-free.
Ride it like you think owning it matters.

This reminds me of 600cc beginner bike thread:
Recent studies have shown that 90% of all drivers feel that they have average to above-driving abilities compared to other drivers on the road. These drivers also said that they think 60% of those on the road are less skilled than they are. It's an interesting perception as it indicates a mentality that everyone else is sub-par, not you. Obviously someone has to be wrong because the percentages just don't add up.
