WOW! That's rough man. I got a $135 ticket for going 20 over in Maryland. That sucks. How many points was it? I had 2 points but got probation before judgement so nothing on my record.
I just took a defense class, no points. But still had to pay the ticket. This was a freeway that I travelled on alot. The real irony is that now those freeways are all 75.

last night I had my bike in the back of my pick-up truck and was driving home at about 3 am. I had passed a cop going the other way about 2 minutes before, Next thing i know is that i see headlights coming up on me at about three times the speed limit, he throws th lights on pulls me over, He was just checking to see if the bike was stolen, he asked me a few questions checked the ownership and then told me to have a goodnight. He was just dooing his job, and you know what I would appreciate it if he pulled someone over with my bike in the back and got it back. Yeah some cops are no funs some are cool and just do their jobs, it is really hit or miss

Yeah...we all know it's your clothing that determines if you're a squid or not.
whenever i do 150mph lanesplitting standup wheelies in heavy traffic during a rainstorm in a school zone in my full leathers i can rest assured im not a squid..... right?

As long as your helmet is strapped securly down with bungees, you're good to go.

So are they allowed to just pull anyone over for no particular reason in Canada? As I was reading your post, I knew you couldn't be talking about the states.
Here, a cop cannot pull you over just because you have a bike in the back. They actually need to witness you breaking the law first (or at least pretend that they witnessed something). Personally, I prefer it that way.

actually in the big cities in the US they usually set up check points for such situations. Especially if there were a string of complaints or robberies.

That's a bit different. If they're pulling everyone over and checking them out, that's allowed in certain situations. Pulling over a random driver to check if he stole something is not allowed.

to be honest, If I had a motorbike in the back, I'd be happy for them to check its not stolen... Because if someone steals mine, I want them to get pulled too

"This just in: Not all cops are bad" Why would anybody think all cops are bad? I don't think I've heard of many times that a cop stops somebody or gives a ticket if they never broke the law. Maybe some cops give more slack than others, but you can't fault them for enforcing the law. It's their job.
Now, if I got a ticket for going 5-10 over would I be pissed? Yeah, I would, but you can't really put the blame on the cop.

the original title was edited, it was "this just in: not all cops are "Donut Holes""
im with you, i respect cops and think they deserve respect from everyone else for the job they do, which is why i posted this thread
*edit*no pun intended with the donut holes thing
