I had a FirstGear MeshTex2.
http://www.firstgear-usa.com/fgweb.nsf/ ... endocument Worked great for me, was a bit warm while stopped, but nice and cool once riding. I can also say that it held up very well in my accident, although it was lower speed. The armor pads stayed in place and kept my shoulders/elbows off the ground very nicely. The outer layer of mesh did shred around them, however, meaning it would definitely have to be replaced if you are in an accident.

MetricRider - What speed was your incident? I have a meshtex2 on order and I am just curious what its capabilities of protection are. Would you buy the jacket again? Thanks for any input

I ordered the
Alpinestars Air-Flo mesh jacket last night. I'll post my thoughts about it when it comes in.

Well, I purchased said jacket today and wore it home - what a difference. Stopping at lights isn't much different, but even in a T-shirt you'll be hot at the lights - but once you are moving, what relief!
I can see me wearing a bikini top under that one

In keeping with the whole "bad biker girl" image that I'm sure you're trying to build for yourself (or maybe not) you might want to go with classic Harley fashion and get a leather top for it. And a leather vest on top of your jacket.
