Why do you wear gloves?

all i can say is i have lived in south carolina for 20 years, and i have been to every state expect for cali, hawaii, and alaska, during the summer time, and i would have to say, south carolina / georgia is the only state i felt like walking into a hotpocket with out the good filling... when i was in montana 97 degrees, people were like complaining it was SO HOT, i was like ur freaking nutz, its like 65 degrees out and feels great, but no they walked me over to a temp guage and sure enough 97F... the souther states is 10 times worse for heat

Holiday, I guess I should say "in my experience" too. When I wear my mesh jacket I sweat my nuts off... back and chest... sweaty... no matter what the humidity is. It is just plain hot and uncomfortable. When I only wear a tshirt I don't sweat at all, even at 95+ degrees... I don't give a damn how many holes the mesh has in it, no holes is still more air hitting my body and drawing heat from it while moving. I thought you lived in Philly... if it is anything like NJ with the heat, I still say you are on crack :)

Hrm, while I am awake I'd like to point out that wearing a jacket isn't just like standing in the shade either. The jacket, if it is worth a damn has a big pad in the back, and shoulder and elbow pads that do not breathe. The jacket is also so close to your body that it traps heat in, you aren't simply holding it above your body to create shade.

You can indeed. A skin graft is a skin graft no matter the location.

Ok... not as easily :) and... in a fall with bad road rash anywhere else on my body I can still work (all I need to do is use a keyboard).

Welding and straw hats just doesn't seem like a good mix, whatever way you cut it
