Actually it should let you start, the side stand relay kicks in if you try to put it in gear while down.

A blown diode can often be traced back to a bad starting circuit cutoff relay.
I'm trying to locate one now....

Hi ZaGhost,

When working properly that is how it is suppose to work. The last xs400 I got was sitting in a garage for a decade and would not get spark in neutral and kick stand up until I replaced the switch. Once I replaced the switch it was fine.

Thanks

I would start a new post instead of tacking on to an old one like this, then you will get more help!!
Well thanks for nothing

I guess asking those who have had simular issues is not acceptible here .

Well i better move along and find another forum that is more USER FRIENDLY instead of wasting my time here.

thanks again.

have a nice day.
uhh he was helping you but your to blind and ignorant to see that. by starting a new thread you may find that the issue your having isnt exactly related to this issue. Plus you might be more inclined to have more people look at it whereas old thread tend to get looked over. The origional poster may not have the time to always look at these threads and might be another reason he is suggesting you start a new thread. Another thing you are doing is basing the site on 1 persons statements. Thats not only very ignorant but very assuming and also very incorrect as there are numerous people on this board willing to help.
