We have a ton of shops around here - most are competitive with online prices with the exception of newenough.com - they're usually about $10 cheaper than the shop. $10 isn't worth going online for IMO.M109R wrote: I put quality parts in my car (i.e. Bosch plugs, K&N Filter) and believe it or not your stealer is using some of those same parts found at the auto parts store but at a much higher price.
At least from some of these responses I can see why they can get away with overcharging people for all these years..stealer brainwashing.
Save your money..do a little research and shop around before you buy.
I can recal reading an article that stated very similar facts. Some ungodly high precent of all head related injuries were caused by the initial impact during an accident. They were designing a helmet that shattered upon impact, much like a race car, and absorbs most of the energy from the fall.ArcticHarleyMan wrote:I watched a documentary on helmets, production and testing.
Did you know that the impact requirement to withstand is equivalent to sitting on your m/c, a chair or anything else, and falling off? It is about equal to a 5 MPH impact. When asked about hitting the ground after falling off your m/c at 50 mph, the rresults showed that you still hit the ground at a fall-over speed, the foreward motion is the "ricochette' factor, which doesn't cause impact.
But I'm wondering about what the impact is if you start tumbling??
I agree. If the counter person provides you with good service, then a $10 discount isn't worth it, IMO. Where my business goes is directly dependant on the quality of service the local dealer can provide.sharpmagna wrote:I buy local because the dealer allowed me try the helmet on answered the questions I asked. That's a service and they earned my business.Mintbread wrote:I would rather spend the extra 10 bucks and keep my local dealer in business.
