Isnt there a law where you can legally drive to a public area to pull over for a police car?

Yes and you can pull out your cell phone, call 911 and verify thier identity but how do you do that on a moto and wearing a helmet? Best thing would be to drive to a public place but sometimes with the roads that some of us take, that could be a while!

MrGompers,, why would i pull over in the middle of the night?? if switching lanes wasnt good enough why would i stop and take the chance of this guy stopping behind me to?? and yeah i have had cops pull me over that had their ticket books but didnt give me a ticket,, so i really dont understand wat your getting at or what your angle is  :frusty:

If the road had good lighting I would have pulled over to the side of the road and stopped completely. If he stopped behind you I bet you could get away really fast and out run him.

I simply stated that whatever argument you made to the cop didn't matter. Cops will not be swayed if they think you are guilty of something. He didn't give you a ticket because he couldn't. Maybe he didn't have his ticket book, maybe he ran out of tickets, maybe he lost his only pen.

I just wanted to point that out.

But mrgompers i have been stopped countless times without getting a ticket most of the officers start chatting with me and not give me a ticket, i was just bringing to your attention that they DO Change their minds!!! like one time i was coming home real late on the bike and i was in a hurry i was doing sixtyMPH in a 30mph zone the cop stop me and i told him my situation and he let me go, i wonder how many cops out there drive around and stop people without pens or ticket books?,, and why would i stop and speed off rather than speed off in the first place?

it all depends on situation, you can usually tell right away what type of cop they are and you can act accordingly
