Hyosung is Korean, they have a huge market in motorcycles in other parts of the world, I got my money back off of my GV250 in resale, and there was a dealer close to me and I was able to get parts.


As for a beginner bike. If you are 6'3, I would probably recommend looking at the Ninja 650R. This is not a race-ready bike, it is a parallel twin with a semi-standard riding position with beginners in mind. In most of the reviews I read, they recommended this over the SV650 for beginners. It is very easy to ride, and should last you a while too.

Try out the Ninja 250 though, you might fit on it alright. I am 6'0, and I fit on it just fine.

i hate to quote myself, but seriously your friend is telling you to buy a 600? now is that a 600 Race Replica or something a little more tame like the katana or the sv650 or a cruiser like the VStar 650? check the "Learn to Ride" link in my sig below for a good list of beginner bikes on Dragonhawk's site. look at HP/torque of those bikes in the list

I trot this out every time someone talks about height and weight on the 250 ninja, but "it hauls my "O Ring" around just fine, and i'm 240ish and 6 foot tall" so an extra ten pounds isn't a huge difference, and depending on if you are long in the leg or long in the torso, that extra 3 inches might not be too much of a difference either.

The place where I first bought my Yamaha Vino had a guy desperately looking for parts for his Hyosung 125/150 scooter. Apparently the warranty didn't cover his parts, and the place he had bought it had gone out of business. I assumed it was Chinese like the other million scooter manufacturers out there. No offense to the Chinese, but they just don't make a quality product.

If you got your money's worth then more power to ya. :P

yeah, i almost weight 170 so i think it should have enufgh power.

similar, but not exactly the same.
the frame, fairings, and the bottom part of engine case is different. Very similar though.

It is true that Suzuki has served as a benchmark and provided its old models to Suzuki, but Hyosung has developed a lot. It is also true that Hyosung is technologically behind and its market share in America is not that big at this point. But I think they make pretty good bikes and the key point is that they are getting better. Kinda like japanese car makers have done in the 80s and Hyundai past five years.

I was gonna get an '99 Aprilia from my cousin, but I decided that I'm gonna save some more money and get a 250GTR. (used, but more reliable and less costly in terms of maintenance and parts)
