I too wanted the M50 and the dealership had one model priced at $6899 for an '07 (I may not be right about the price but it was the MSRP). I got a used '06 C50 for $5799 that had 906 miles.
Here in Mexico there is only the M50 available..... There isn´t C50 or S50 in the Mexican market....
Here is a small city and we have a small dealers that doesn´t have in stock a lot of motorcycles, only a few and small bikes....
He doesn´t have the ´06 in stock either.....
In my town, all the dealers (Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki ) only sell the bigger bikes by request.... Thats why is not possible to seat and check the models, only if you have a friend that owns one.

I purchaced one of the first M50's in April 05 and its a P.O.S. ever since I owned it , its had problems, fouling plugs, shutting down from electrical problems, blowing black smoke from the exhaust, cracked frame welds, death IRC tires, its uncomfortable, hard to handle, shakes and vibrates past 60mph, hard shifting and always "Clunks" when you shift it, sticking clutch, its a hard bike to ride comparied to other bikes. Its a cheap made bike, the engine and frame is made in China, you get what you pay for, go with either the Yamaha 650 V Star or the Honda VT750, both are much better bikes than the M50

I bought a new 05 M50 in May. I have had none of the problems posted above. I am 6'2"- 275lbs. I find this bike extremely comfortable and easy to handle. It rides extremely smooth especially at higher speeds. I have run into a few people on the roads that also have M50's and they also have never had any problems. I am glad I haven't had the problems moto has had. Sounds like a rare thing. The only mods I want to make on this bike is new pipes. I just bought new Vance & Hines cruzer exhaust pipes. I envy the nice throaty sound larger bikes get. I definitely intend to get a bigger bike in the next year or so but am definitely glad that I got the M50 as my first bike. I would definitely recommend this bike not only for the ride but also for its looks. Everytime I'm at a public place someone approaches me and wants to know more about it.
Mr pacedawg, Maybe the M50 was the first bike you owned, or its the only bike you ever did ride, no offence, but if you would ride any other bike you would find out what a POS the M50 is. Im ashamed and embarressed of my M50 and ashamed and embarressed to be seen riding it, all my friends make fun of it, no dealer wants to and can't fix it, the way other bikers point and laugh when it "CLUNKS" when I shift it, they all CLUNK, even ur M50 CLUNKS, don't lie and tell me it don't cause I know for a fact they all CLUNK and it handles like riding a horse wagon, you don't steer that bike you fight it and push on the handlebars to steer it, it has a forward riding postion where you have to stretch ur whole body out just to reach the handlebars then after 20 miles ur whole body is sore and worn out from fighting that bike, its no fun to ride, you don't ride that bike, you fight it.

Easy buddy. . . everyone has their own opinions and I respect yours as well as you should respect others. With that said, my posting was intended to give a different perspective. My bike does not clunk and is extremely comfortable for me. I have not had a problem with it and everyone I have come across wants to know more about it because of its looks. I am not saying that this is the best bike in the world nor is it the only bike I will ever own but I am saying that this is a very unique and reliable bike that many will enjoy. Obviously it is not for everyone.
Dude you've been whinin and complainin about your M-50 since you been on this board yet you lack the balls to fix it. I'm beginning to wonder if you actually do own one. Quit your whining and go away!! Moron!

He is a troll. He has never made a usefull post, PLEASE don't base any decisions on him. I have talked to a couple of M50 owners around here, they all liked their bikes.
The VT750 isn't bad, but I would probably hold out for the M50 for the fuel injection and more horsepower.
However, the Honda is bulletproof, and maintenance on a Honda is easy to do. I know nothing of the suzuki maintenance though.

The Suzuki is bulletproof as well. Which is more than I can say for MotoF150.

Regarding gas milage... I get approximately 45 mpg driving mostly in city. I seem to get this no matter how I ride though, both aggressive and passive. I have actively driven through tanks taking off hard from every light and reving hight and conversely taking off slowly, shifting at the recommended speeds and not riding very hard at all. It seems to make little difference in that regard.
As for suggesting the Maurader.... I believe fuel injection was one of the original posters selling points and I don't think that it was added until they switched over to the M50.
I've had my M50 since Sept 05 and haven't had any trouble with it. The tank made a noise for the first 1500 miles or so, but that went away (it was related to the tank vibrating) and now I don't get any odd noises. My bike does clunk shifting from 1st to 2nd, but that's it. And I have heard bikes that cost significantly more clunk much much louder. It's not that big of a deal.
My bike handles just fine... it doesn't move around as easily as, say, an SV650, but it's definitely not bad at all.
Regarding having to stretch to reach the handle bars..... I don't stretch at all. In fact, the bike seems to be perfect. I'm not tall, just 6', so nothing abnormal. It may be a stretch if you're short. My girlfriend can barely reach the pegs and she is 5'4", so I suppose that could be an issue. I've also ridden about 500 miles in a day and didnt have any issues that you wouldnt have on any bike, or in a car, or just sitting on the couch for that many hours. But yeah, I could do several hundred miles without a rest, the only limiter would running out of gas every 170 miles.
Also, it does have some minor vibration, but nothing bad. I've ridden bikes that are much, much worse. It's a twin so it's going to have that issue.
It also does have enough power to do whatever you need to, I've had mine over 110... it doesn't have the acceleration at that speed that it does at 75, but you shouldnt need it there anyways.
All in all, Id highly recommend the M50, its a good bike. It also doesn't look like every other bike out there.
