if there were other vehicles on te other corners... i would have never done a cali roll.
my point is... i did slow down enough to assess my surroundings and went ahead since it's clear.
a warning should have been enough.

I drive professionally and I also instruct driver training. It is such a habit for me to stop at stop signs and stop for red lights.
Around here the favourite pastime seems to be how many cars can we get through the red light before the green light traffic starts honking at us.

I stop at red lights (on a straight, not a right turn - and even then I still yield if there is the potential of an incoming vehicle) and stop signs.
What irks me is when I have to run a red light because the sensor didn't trip w/ my bike being there. Just the other night I had to run 3 red lights.

Believe it or not, some people still follow the law, as piddly as it may be to you. I resent you calling me a liar (in your generalized way). Until you sit in my truck when I roll through a stop sign, "liar" has no place with me.
I don't think it is "just where I'm from" that people decide to follow the law. It's up to each individual to make the call on whether they'll have the integrity to do so.
Ok, off my soap box. I hate being called a liar. My word is my word and I stand behind it with my actions. The fact that society has degenerated so much that untrusthworthiness is the norm really busts my butt.

just because I follow the law on my bike (I feel safer because of it) doesnt mean I follow the law in my cage. then again since I got my bike I dont drive my cage much.

In reality I stop fully at stop signs with traffic present - really almost all stop signs. Near my house I have a corner that enters a main road and I do the "California stop" when there is no traffic present - but I do "almost" make a full stop. I bring the bike to close to zero checking for clear view and accelerate off - but I do know too that this is illegal. I would not recomend to anyone that they should not stop for every sign. But in answer to your question, at every stop - full or not, I get into first gear. Lugging is not good for your bike.

New York isnt the only place where there are stop signs at just about every block (or stop lights). So imo if you are in that much of a hurry that you cant stop for EVERY stop light (meaning feet down look both ways then go) then you shouldnt be riding your bike.

This is what you get for not having roundabouts...

What the crap is a roundabout?
Is that the 'Magic' turn thing or whatever where it had like 5 turning lanes and everyone just drove around in a circle or something like that? Sounds like a recipe for disaster lol.
