Rather, it's the minor Greek god Pan, with his goats legs and cloven hooves and horns that was brought in to the Christian mythos as the figure of Evil. In Greek mythology, Pan was really rather harmless except for his prediliction toward Nymphs. From him we get satyriasis and panic. We also wouldn't have Zamfir if it weren't for Pan.
Sorry. Sometimes the pedant in me comes out to play.
It may be because I'm English but Pan ties in with Herne the Hunter, who is also the Green Man/Summer king/Horned God.
I suspect its another case of same god, different name, no problem.

Where are you going, where have you been?
Lenny: Hey George I want a dog.
George: Shut up Lenny, you're too stupid for a dog.
Lenny: At least I'm not an @ssoff.

That was You??
Well, by the time I gathered my wits, I was late in grabbing my crotch and rolling my eyes. Give me a bit more warning next time.

It's been very windy. A peace sign from the handlebar. When it was nicer (less wind), it was a peace sign from about waist high. I realize I have a peace dove hanging from my rear view mirror in the jeep. I generally give the peace sign across the room (bar, office, crowd) for "hello" and "good bye".
I guess I really want PEACE! Oh, I grew up in the 60's - 70's, too!

This Peace sign wouldn't be the V for Victory would it?

I get a bang out of the reaction some folks have when I engage my throttle-lock and give them a right-handed salute.

Yes, Victory... My dad would say it's for Victory - he served in WWII under Patton, Bronze Star, Victory In Europe, Good Conduct, Victory in Japan....
