You might want to proof your messages before you send them. Use full sentences, separated into paragraphs, and watch your grammar. Electronic communication is not the place to write in all slang and urban-speak (if there is such a word). I recommend you pick up a book on effective communication through email, it would certainly help.

Minor mispellings and errors are easily forgiven on a message board, but once you start sending business emails you are going to be a joke if you continue to write like that.

On topic, stop lane-splitting. Take the MSF, ride carefully. You are trying to accomplish too much for your level of experience.

PS: Smileys are for indicating the mood of your posts. Generally one per post is sufficient. You should only use another one if you have a paragraph that you need to emphasize one mood over the general feel of the post. A laughing smiley following a LOL is redundant.

Lane splitting sounds like a good way to get squeezed out and summarily "messed".

i think i'll take getting side-swiped over being rear-ended.

I'd rather get hit from behind. Worst case you go flying forwards over the handlebars potentially... but not likely to shatter your femur as you're moving from a stop. It's also possible, maybe even likely you will end up under the car... depends upon the vehicle height and the bike type plus it's construction.

Alternately you can get squeezed between two vehicles or get sideswiped, or go into someones front end as they pull in front of you.

Case one, you probably just had both of your legs crushed into the frame

Case two, you just had one leg crushed into the frame, and you're sliding down the road with potentially the other leg under your bike (as you're not travelling overly quickly)

Case three, you just shattered both femurs as they slammed into your clip ons as you summersaulted over the hood of whatever car just got his front end into your path.

Any time you put yourself in a position where there is little room to manevour/little clearance you are asking to get messed up. Especially when your only way out (going forwards) can be blocked very easily.

I choose neither, but would rather have the lane splitting option to get out of slow traffic. Being rear ended would do as much if not worse damage than what you listed above.

Just as this guy. He probably had a lot worse than a shattered femur.

Then again, we were talking about being stopped in traffic, where everyone is going to be going at a fairly slow pace, AND if you're paying attention to what's going on behind you... you can avoid someone rear ending you by pulling forwards and beside whatever vehicle stopped in front of you.

I've personally done that on two occasions in my riding career. It all comes down to situational awareness.

Ok to be more fair, there is a tendency in my generation to have the want or need to slaughter our written language. And yes, there are those who defy the current trend. Thank you, and keep on fightin' cam!

Very true. You need to be aware of your situation and how to react as stuff arises. And I've pulled away to avoid trouble myself once.

But I still think even in stopped traffic you can be seriously hurt from being rear ended. You can probably tell what the car approaching behind you is doing, and the one behind that. But after that it starts to get more difficult to tell. And if that 3rd car back slams into the one in front of it, creating a domino affect, I believe you could get crunched and pinned from the affects of that happening.

Not trying to be argumentative, just saying that both options have their risk and hazards and one is not necessarily safer than the other. (Taking into account where lanesplitting is a legal and accepted practice, that is.)

I've seen some pretty bad crunches from people in 15mph traffic jams. People tend to slam on the gas for some reason, I suspect often to keep others from cutting into the lane in front of them. One second of wandering attention and smack, a 30mph accident in 15mph traffic.
