As for sales figures rising for large SUV's after prices came down on fuel, it says something about the citizens of this country having a mass learning disability, as someone referred to previously. I seriously wonder if there wouldn't be revolution here if fuel availability, regardless of cost, was curtailed for some reason. It would be far worse than the so-called fuel shortage back in the 1970's to be sure. I think some people would go positively mad. For some reason, many in this country think we are entitled somehow to a greater share of the planet's natural resources than anybody else. Why this is so, I don't know, but it does seem to look that way.
That would be hilarious. Have a monthly limit on the amount of gasoline/diesel that everyone is allowed to buy. I can just see the collective world of a lot of people imploding as I write this.

I always think its funny when people suggest vans instead of SUVs. Most of them get mileage that's just as bad or barely better.

Petrol rationing - blinder!

We had rationing here until 1950, then again during 1957 and it nearly saw a return in 2000. I tell you Scooters and small motorbikes would become instantly popular.

I saw a tv show long ago that featured a guy who claimed to have built an engine that produced more power than it would draw in. He tried to patent it and the patent office built and tested his invention and then, ignoring the instructions, grounded the unit which made it not work right so he can't patent it now. Dont know what happened to that. Anyone else see that?
I'm building an engine that runs on stupid.

Being the only infinite thing in the universe, it is the only logical choice for a fuel.
