Because we are so reliant on computers these days, and a lot of computer systems automatically change the clocks. Like it was mentioned, for things like airlines and other time based buisinesses, it could have a huge impact, and the effort to fix it would be substantial.

That said, they still need to make the change.

Actually, having Daylight Savings involves more work where business computers are concerned. There's extra code to deal with the time change and not all of them work the same way. You also have to figure out how to handle the extra hour in the fall. If a transaction is processed at 1:59 AM on the day of the change, the following transaction would have a timestamp of 1:00 AM, even though it occurred later.

Even though I'm in AZ, our systems run on Eastern time (financial markets). Twice a year we have to shut everything down for the time change.

I say keep it just so I can laugh at the people who show up an hour early/late for work....

doesnt bother me any about the waking up with daylight or what not, its still dark when I get up, its dark at work then its dark when I go home...yay.

I do like that extra hour of sleep though.....

Really doesn't bother me. I mean really, whats the big deal? It doesn't affect anything important in my life one way or the other .
