touche, Highside, touche (and a good chuckle) yet I think Hopper will find out being kept at Suzuki is a curse rather than a blessing
Kenny stuck it out too long with Suzuki and being a free agent should pay dividends for him now in my estimation.
Funny, this Kenny/Hooper/Suzuki thing reminds me of someone i once figured would eventually open her eyes and see something in a different light -- yet always seems blinded by something unexplainable, and is never ready to look at things anew. Kenny was very committed and devoted to continuing with Suzuki, despite the factory's ongoing lack of ability/desire/interest to meet him at a fair level, and provide a bike capable of winning.
With people as with race teams, it's only safe to trust your rationale so long, and then every once in awhile something/someone comes along to rewrite the books on riding (Rossi), racebikes (twostroke becomes fourstroke), or chassis setup, etc... refining the old-school ideas works great for a long time, but every once in awhile a major change happens (chaos of sorts) and BANG!! everything changes, for some people anyway. Other continue with the (safe) status quo, and never grow and learn a new way of being.
Some people are always searching for answers but never take the opportunity (as they are risk adverse). I've known people whole held a strong hand of cards (to use another analogy) yet always followed the route of someone with a pair of deuces in their hand. They rarely stay around long enough to really learn something new, yet they get really good at being miserable. Well, like Kenny's good Karma, it can only carry one so far when matched with Suzuki's stubborn system... in my estimation Suzuki is just so STUCK that they HAD to do something different, and perhaps being that they cannot admit there own error, they drop the best thing they have. Kenny.
anyway... enough philosophy for tonight
BTW, for the $5 bet, it's not important to put that "cheque in the mail", just hand it out in part to those less fortunate when you find someone looking for a little handout. I am sure at Christmas time, and given this cold weather lately, there are those who need it more than us. $1 to 5 people, or 50-cents to 10... whatever works for you. Victory is fleeting more often than not. They may use that money more wisely than most. If they waste it, such is life. Giving the less fortunate (or those down on there luck) a little opportunity is less wasted than giving it to the average joe.
Cheers,
