I just read that the sv650s can be quite uncomfortable? Do you find this to be true? thanks for the sites.

comfortability is in the design of you body meshing with the design of the bike. Go sit down on all of the bikes that you would like and get a feel for them. Have a dealer or someone hold the bike up for you and raise both feet. Also, don't take an crap from a dealer if they ignore you once they find out they aren't getting a sale that day. A lot of ppl find an aggressive seating position (see: sportbike, RR bike) uncomfortable. I find aggressive very comfy! I am more comfortable on my SV after and hour+ of riding than in my car. But you might not, so check into it first. You definitely want to pick your bike out with being comfortable in mind

Yeah,comfort is a big deal,for me anyways. And what do you think about the honda cbr600rr as a second bike ,after either the ninja 500r, the gs500f,the sv650s or the ninja 650r?

I would ride whatever bike you get for a good couple seasons before you buy another bike. Push that bike to its limits in that time, and it will make you a better rider. On that note, i plan on buying a GSX-R600 in a couple of years

Yea, sit on all those bikes you are considering and see which one fits you. I think the honda is a great bike, but you need at least a couple of seasons on your first bike before moving up to that. I wouldn't even think about your second bike until you are well proven on your first. You will find that your tastes will change.

For example, I wanted a Hyosung GT650R for my first bike, and ended up with a Ninja 500r. Checked out the SV650 and the Ninja 650r too. I think if I could have convienced myself to pay a little more, I would have been really happy with the SV650, but I wanted to have more money for proper riding gear and a great beginners bike. Im still happy with my choice, but a sv650 would have been good too. Both bikes have their merits.

I started off wanting an r6 for my second bike, then a cbr600f4i, then r1, then the gsxr750, and now its either the r6 or triumph 675. Ive only put down 4,000 miles on my ninja, and had the bike for 4 months. Ive had almost 10 years of dirt bike experience... and Im still taking it easy. I simply want to treat my bikes right now I guess, and I can't afford injury... not only from a fiancial standpoint... but also my current career. My driving record is EXTREAMLY important as an automotive technician... as well as past injuries.
