I just found a review of the Connie online and it was real critical of the motor. It said it was really buzzy and made their tester's hand fall asleep within miles! Can anyone comment on that?

The vibration on the Connies was always a low point in their reviews, but there are ways to correct the problem. Synching the carbs helps a lot, and there are countless other remedies. You might want to check out the Concours owner's site. (not sure of the URL - just google it.) There are a lot of people with good advice on there.
If people are willing to ride them over 100K miles, it can't be too bad.

The connie has been around for years and has a devoted following however I think most people replace the stock seat.However on a hot day you would bake behind the fairing.Also I dont now if you would realy enjoy the concours at this point in your riding carear.Have you thought about a Suzuki Bandit 600S.Half fairing and very comfy.There should be some of those around.

I'm keeping my eye out for SV650S models, as well. I think a simple half fairing should take care of the wind problem that makes me the most unhappy.

The SV's are great bike.Only complaint I have heard is they are uncomfatble over long distances.

I've ridden one and that assesment is bang-on. I got off of it wondering "whats the attraction?". All I could think of was "cheap!". Buzzy and gutless, and no bottom end power. I would way sooner tour on that Bandit myself. And it handles like a sportbike as well.....

I'm still keeping my eyes open for deals. I spotted an early 90s 600 Katana in a local city for sale in my budget. Too bad I'm so insanely busy I don't have time to check them out yet, but I think I'll have better luck come fall. People wanting to unload their summer toys and I'll have the cash then, as well.
