Back in 1986 coming off the interstate exit with tight circle I hit a patch of gravel that looked to have been dumped on accident. The bike went straight into the median because I could not turn. I got two broken arms and a broken collar bone. Over years there have been numerous close calls that usually involve someone turning in front of me.

I am still waiting for my accident on road..... I had a pretty good one riding MX its the reason I stopped It tore up both my knees bad enough that it hurt to jump anymore. I went into a jump a little hard on the throttle and slipped of the bike on launch. The rear wheel ran away underneath me flipping the front wheel back into me I would up landing into the face of the next jump on my feet. Both my legs crumpled under me. I was 220 lbs at the time apparently that was too much for my knees to take landing at speed into the face of the next hill............. I have on many occasions had to take evasive action on account of other motorists. I have chosen to jump a a curb instead of t -boning a car that turned in front of me. At the very same intersection I creased a woman's drivers door with my front wheel when she ran a light and turned across in front of me. I had slid the rear end a tiny bit sideways and could have stopped completely. It was too much fun to tap her door though (with her staring me in the eye the whole time) The woman had the nerve to get out and start cussing me because she ran a light and I should have stopped and waited for her.

T-boned by a joker in an F-150 running a red light back in '93. Shattered both bones in my lower right leg, one of them came out just below my ankle. My Honda CB650 was declared DOA on the spot, guess having the front end of a Ford pick up truck sitting on it is not good for a Honda. Took three years to heal where I could walk without support of a cane or crutch and still have the odd twinge of pain to this day. Sadly it took me almost 12 years to start riding again. But once I did, I never looked back and ride pretty much year round, expect when it snows or there is ice on the roads.

Prior to that, I had a number of other crashes which were an occupational hazzard of being a motorcycle courier.

I was getting off the freeway and heading to work one chilly November morn when my bike hit a patch of black ice causing me to slide sideways and go down. Most of the damage was to my left calf and below where the horn was resting the entire weight of the bike. Had some minor cosmetic damage to the tank and mirrors but not to bad. My leg on the other hand looked like I was wearing a purple sock from the massive bruising.

1. Missed a 20 mph curve sign at night in 1989. Going about 60 mph, only got slowed a bit before hitting curb, landing in cross street and then bouncing into field. Bike totalled. ICU for a week, hospital for a month, out of work for 5 months. Broke R femur and ankle, almost lost left foot, broke R wrist. Not good.
2. 1994: deer jumped out in front of me on little 2 lane road at dusk, going about 50 mph. Skinned up knees and some bodywork damage on bike, nothing serious.
3. 2008: guy ran red light and plowed into the side of my bike on my way to work. I was going about 50 mph probably. Bike got pushed into oncoming traffic and totalled. I went straight ahead and got a bit of a concussion and strained a rotator cuff, but no serious injuries.

Won't go into the crashes while roadracing (prob not as many as you'd think)... but they are definitely less dangerous to the body!

A few that left scars on me, but not much to the bike. Mainly from exiting my bike without a parachute.

No accidents yet, and really no close calls yet either. Two of us, a year and couple months under our belts.

Hmm, last time I checked this thread I hadn't crashed yet, and now I have.

My rear tire lost traction on a wet metal bridge expansion joint. I went down on a freeway at between 80-90kph. Totally preventable and totally my fault. ATGATT + wet road + HiViz = no abrasion injuries and no impact injuries (aside from a small coin-sized bruise on my thigh). Lots of bike damage though; pegs, cylinder head cover, bar-end, mirrors, and indicators needed to be replaced. Insurance took care of that, and ridiculous luck took care of me.

I've never crashed my own bike, but I've crashed someone else's. I'm sticking with the fact that it's his fault though.
