That bike was rated for 175mpg for in city riding. I have no doubt it delivered as promised... my biggest concern was the possibility of the gas in the tank going stale, my time riding was shared across 4 different bikes at the time.

As for top speed, I measured that with my GPS and it showed the speedo to be accurate.

Not that this means that much since we can't run out to the dealer and buy one like it anyway.

the 50cc scooters i've seen and ridden usually got around 100 mpg. I cant imagine getting 175.

:humm: I'm going to question your top speed claim, Paul. I'm originally from Saskatchewan and there just ain't no such thing as a "no wind situation" out there.

Funny, the Yamaha Vino is rated at 190mpg. Not bad for a machine that weighs 52 pounds more than my C200 and is running on fat little tires. I rest my case.

That sound is me eating a crow wearing my hat.

Although I cannot find anything other than a sidebar blurb on Yamaha's web site indicating that any Vino gets anything much above 100mpg.

190 seems totally absurd to me, and I'm still having trouble believing it. I'd like to see some official numbers. Owners seem to be advertising things like "upwards of 90 mpg!"

Here ya go...
http://www.yamaha-motor.ca/products/pro ... |1&LANG=en

The 2007 model is rated the same, 190mpg or 68km/litre.

I also took the liberty of Googling my Honda C200. Here is an official 1964 road test. http://www.dropbears.com/m/models/honda/c90c200.htm

That is my 1964 C200 on the left.

...and below is a pic of my wife's bike to which I affixed a 31cc Honda 4-stroke engine. This thing is supposed to get in excess of 230mpg, so far I believe it because we use it alot and infrequently add fuel.

My CG125 had better than 100mpg (not by much) and would touch 70mph with me aboard!
