YZF 600R, not getting fuel?

Got the float needle fixed. Now I have a new problem. I can start the bike fine now, but only with the choke. When I give the bike throttle it wants to die. When I try to turn off the choke once the bike is started, it dies. What should I be looking for? Any help would be appreciated.

Adjust idle speed, and sync the carbs.

If that doesn't work take them back off and clean them again.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

To adjust the idle speed, there should be a plastic knob somewhere on the carbs, clockwise to increase and counterclockwise to decrease. Do it while the bike's running.

to sync the carbs im pretty sure you need a special tool for yamahas but i could be wrong with the newer ones.

Couple of vacuum gauges would work for the carb sync, if you know what you're doing.

Or the carb may have a screw that you need to adjust the idle, not all have an adjusting knob.

I haven't fooled with it since last week, it idles around 1000 rpms or just below. Sounds good when idle, it's just when I hit the throttle it dies. If I pump the gas while starting the engine at the same time, I can get the bike reving over the 1000 rpm . Once it settles back to idle and I try to hit the throttle again, it dies. :frusty: I guess I'm going to try synchronize the carbs, $80 bucks for a carb tuner!

You should probably turn your idle up to about 1500rpm. Then check all four carbs to ensure there are no obstructions. If it happens right off idle it's possible that you've got a clog in one of the jets. At about what throttle orientation does it die? Like 1/8th 1/4 throttle?

Let me see, I can twist the throttle a bit and raise the rpms a couple hundred, I can even get it to the spot where you can hear the engine about to die, let off and let it idle back down. So I can give it a BIT of gas before I hit the spot where it dies. If that makes any sense.

New development. Ok, I re-cleaned my carbs and put brand new jets and needles into the thing. Now I can give it gas without it dying while choked, but I still can't get it off of choke without it dying. I didn't let it warm up very long though (>10mins), it was late and we have neighbors. So I'll have to wait till tomorrow to be 100% sure.
