I love the secret menu, you can get it online.

Best burger I ever had was at "Mike's at the Yard" in Petaluma, CA. The "yard" is a stock yard, so go figure. He's got another place at the corner of Hwy 116 and Old Redwood Hwy in Cotati, Mike's at the Crossroads. Same burgers, but it lacks some of the charm (and smell) of the Yard.

Florida kind of sucks for food... I used to live in Southern California, so I'm kind of biased. However, Whataburger is decent. I actually like Sonic every now and then. My favorite burger joint was actually on my college campus! A place called Wackadoos. Their "large" burger, a nice half-pound serving, is delicious... however, the DOUBLE large BURGER is where it's at!

BUT, if you are in Florida and are looking for the best burger around, you won't find it unless you visit my house! 8) My classic "smoked jalapeno and chipotle cheddar cheese infused beef patties  . Topped with avacado, fresh lettuce and fresh tomatoes, and your choice of cheddar, munster, monterey jack, or provolone, on one variant... and sauteed mushrooms (sauteed in a spicy pepper sauce), grilled carmel onions, and provolone cheese on the other". Oh, and if my guests are really lucky, I might make my "secret peppercorn dip"! It is a pretty exclusive club though... it's hard to find. You have to go off smell to get the right house, so it is easier to find it outside of a cage!

In the Pasadena/South Pasadena area (when I lived in California), I LOVED Lucky Boy. It is this little place right across the parking lot from the Trader Joes. They give you a full box of whatever side you want (fries, onion rings, fried zucchini..yum!). Great flamebroiled burgers, and they are cheap!
Another one out there is Tops, similar to Lucky Boys, I'd give them the runner up.. another place that gives extremely generous portions, and is delicious. In N Out is always a safe bet for a burger. Very good, but not as "backyard"ish as Lucky Boy, and you don't get nearly as much food there.

Best burger in town is from the barbeque in my back garden.

My housemate got me in the habit of cooking salami alongside the burgers on the bbq. Damn that makes them tasty

Also a great bluegill fish fry on (what else) Friday nights.
Oi, I might have to swing over to Reedsburg sometime soon, I'm only about an hour away.

In my neck of the woods, Boscobel, WI has a diner called the Unique Cafe, they've got a 1/2 lbs burger called the Bulldog. Just all the usuals. Sure is good though.

I've had In and Out a few times. They were probably the worst burgers I've ever consumed.

Lefty's in Moscow is the only way to fly. That or the diner in Elk River, ID. Delicious!

Lefty's challenge: two pounds of cooked beef, a milkshake and fries.
