Let me guess, the VTR was the first to need gas right???? How did it compare to the rest of the bikes in your group?

H1 mill in a 250 LB hilly! Wow! That must be an e-ticket ride!

All I can think is the thing must handle like a dream. We made a few, ahem... spirited runs and the guy on the SuperHawk seemed to be more laid back about the whole thing than the rest of us. Kinda blase'. Of course, he was the youngest and most fit rider of the bunch so I guess that counts for something too.
The Dragon is what seems like an endless succession of super-tight switchbacks, so if you're riding a bike that requires a lot of muscle to heel it over, like my old ox, it can give you a real workout. Especially if you've got more than a couple decades under your belt - my shoulders were sore all day Sunday and Monday.

You suck- just kidding. We had to cancel our trip there for lack of funds. We'd be coming home tomorrow

It ain't the fastest, the best looking or the most comfortable, but it sure likes corners and sounds great doing it if I do say so myself. Still have to get down there eventually.....

Where did you stay?

It was only a day trip for me, personally. It's an easy 2 hour ride from Asheville. Let me guess... I really suck!
A couple guys in our group stayed at Fontana Village, one took a room at Deal's Gap M/C Resort.

Love the pic of that tree. I think the Suzuki faring piece that says "too much too soon" makes that pic an excellent addition to the beginning riders section, along with an explanation. Mike?

Good eye, Matt... I didn't think anyone else would pick up on that.

I guess at this point I should urge everyone to read a tutorial on riding the Dragon. It's chock-full of excellent tips which can be applied to any twisty road, tips that can save your life or at least prevent an embarassing moment.
