OK - rant over...

Cheers,

...honestly Loonette, you should've went with your gut feeling on that one. the opportunity you missed was for you and your hubby to have a little more FUN with this guy. Scan could've lured him in with some direct responses like, "do i look like i'm riding a bike?" or, he could've turned to you and asked, "honey, darling, sugarplum, what kind of motorcycle do you own there?". You know, have some fun with the guy! :D maybe the guy wouldve figured it out for himself with a little prompting, and then he'd feel better about discovering that women to ride bikes  ...
My hubby and I, SO would have been all over that guy, too. (I started riding before he did, too).

I think it was kind of a dumb question. I mean, I'm only now learning and getting into bikes, but the make of the bike is generally written or logo'd somewhere on the bike.

Regardless, I would've done my best to make him feel stupid.

Yeah I can see the humor in that :)

If I see a couple together I just introduce myself to them both to be on the safe side even if it turns out they aren't a couple. I'd rather them explain that their just "friends".

What a backwards, antiquated attitude. I don't belong to my husband. And there's no way to tell if I'm even married as we don't wear wedding bands. And what if he had been my brother? So basically what you're saying is, if a woman is in the company of any man, then she is "clearly taken" and is off limits? Maybe we married girls should all start wearing burkas!!

My husband appreciates being married to an individual who can hold her own conversations and be her own person. We're supposed to share our lives together, not me surrender my life to him.

It shouldn't matter at all whether or not you think someone is married - like Lion Lady said... it's just a conversation - not sex! If you want to make the moves on some gal, then yeah, you might want to know if the guy standing with her is actually "with" her. But for a friendly conversation, most modern men don't give a deuce if someone is talking with their partner.

just one question

Honestly what would you think if some woman just approach your husband and began asking him a bunch of questions. it would be wierd and akward. and if you are married he belongs to you and you belong to him. and you are both taken. I am not suggesting that it is correct to ignore a lady. I am all for freedom of all however i a can assure you there are those in this world. that you may want to use some old world edicate. because you may find yourself in a bad situation. especially when you are an outsider. Interjecting your self into some one elses buisness. I am not trying to degrade women here. Only offering another possibility that maybe the guys that you are refering to may not mean any malice toward you. Sorry to have offended.

It's only weird and awkward if they're naked...and that does tend to happen since he does anesthesia.

I have no problem with women approaching him to ask questions, or just to talk. I don't even care if they're hitting on him...I don't own him. Now, don't tell HIM that...but I don't ;)

I'm going to guess that you are from a older generation where people were brought up with some very different values than today. Although I don't have an issue over whether a man or woman was having a conversation with another's wife or husband....I would have a problem if it was flirting or hitting on.....
