Hot wire your lawn....

get a bb gun(low powered or use plastic pellets). camp out when you see this going on pop the dog and watch it take off running or just flip out on the owner. after a few times the dog will learn it only happens at your yard and wont go back. shouldnt hurt the dog that much either.

or i herd theres stuff they sell thats is(or basically is) lion "pee" that scares off dogs and other animals with the scent. my sis used it and has had no dogs enter her yard since.

The trouble with the 'burbs is everyone HAS to get a dog and then "walk" them at night so someone else has to clean up the dodo. But me, out here in the sticks, I shoot my own dogs with a bb gun for barking.... well I did for awhile, they don't bark without a good reason anymore......

doing that kind of thing in the suburbs is what makes it more fun. he could go all out camo gear and stuff. then if the swat team does show up(do they have swat team, i thought they had those horse patrol in canada) watch the fun outside blocking traffic causing a huge scene and just deny deny deny

They stopped useing horses for daily operations last year. Too many WCB claims from cops twisting knees and breaking ankles running through trying to catch guys with bb guns. Hell, we even got a cop riding around on a Ducati 749R up in Edmonton. The guy who rides it was fairly adamant that he not have to slide through any fresh piles around the donut shops, so they gave the rest of the cops cars.

GEEZ! Our Ozzie Cops had Poxy K100's for the longest time....

Not sure what they are riding now? We don't have any Bike Cops in Alice....

We had some Mounted Police there a while back but they took them away as well.

Bummer.

our cops get new BMWs to ride around on. well the lucky ones i guess, the unlucky ones get bicycles(tons of them around here). its funny to see them in the bike lane riding next to cars, like ok they see someone speeding what are they going to do exactly?

It's a wire you bury around the perimeter of your yard, and the dogs wear a collar that shocks them if it gets too close tot he wire. (It's not a bad shock ... yes i tried it The collar made a beeping noise in proximity to the wire before it gave a shock, so the dogs would know not to go any further !

The added benefit was that soon enough the dogs heed the boundaries of the yard even without the collar.

This is how military guard dogs are trained. The added bonus is that the dogs are pretty aggrivated already because they're worried about getting shocked.

As for lots of new houses in Calgary what actually happened is the city of Calgary sort of grabbed up as much surrounding area as it could amalgamating all the outlying towns and suchforth into one giant city. This massively increased the tax revenue for the city. and all of the surrounding area was filled in with suburbs. So the gaps got used up.

All sorts of bike cops in Napoli - they ride Moto Guzzi quotas (offroad guzzis) Honda Transalp 650s and BMW f650s. Probably have more, but I can't think of any off the bat. And believe me - you need a dual purpose bike for the streets around here It's very rare to see a sportbike (Except as a 150 mph blur on the highway) Never downtown.

There's a small blurb about the Edmonton Cop Ducati in Motorcyclist this month. Looks sweet. Novel approach to crime fighting too - the bike's not meant to chase down bad guys, but to get the police involved in the roadracing scene to encourage people to take it to the track, instead of racing illegaly.

I had a buddy do that with an annoying crow outside his apartment window. Less than 10 minutes later he was face down in the dirt with the swap team surrounding him, guns drawn. Nope, I think I'll have to pass on this one....
