Oh yeah, I forgot. If you've got the cash, get a Buell. Low maintenance, lotsa torque, cool but simple tech, striaghtforward design, it sounds and feels great, and you don't see a lot of them.

I like the Mayfield ice cream flavors that are interpretations of pies, like chocolate cream pie, blueberry pie, and lemon merangue pie. Does that count?

Pie: French silk, hands down. Mmmmmmmm.
Ice cream: There's a place in DC called Sweet Licks that has the bext cookie dough ice cream on the planet and, therefore, the best ice cream on the planet.

Actually, given that you said most bikes feel too fat, you might actually give a D a sit. It's wicked-narrow.

You suggested (before the sweets sidebar ) that everything you sit on feels too fat or the tank feels huge. I think you should consider the Triumph Daytona 675. I’ll add the pic below, but this bike is very nimble and has the most narrow profile of this class (600-750cc). I fell in love with the Daytona last year and now they are actually getting easier to find. I saw a 2007 yellow one on Ebay the other day with a BIN price of $8,499.

I'd hope that one on ebay is new or heavily modded, cuz that's what I paid for my brand-spankin' new 06. I've seen folks getting used ones (about 2000 miles average) for mid $6k.

Yeah but try and find parts in stock for a triumph. If you're in the DC area you're not riding for at least 2 weeks if something breaks guaranteed. Not sure about where you are though.

It is about a 2 week wait for anything I need. Apparently it is a little easier to get parts for the 07s but since the 06s are rather rare no one carries parts for 'em. And the dealer won't give me 07 parts... even though they're the same $#@*&)% thing. Oh well.

Best all around sportbike? Well, for one that's isn't gear toward race replica, try a Honda Nighthawk CB700SC!
