I was thinking, Who goes to work this early?, but then I noticed you're on the right coast.

Today was the first day in three weeks I didn't ride to work.

I didn't see another bike on the road or parked anywhere near my office.

Probably has something to do with the ongoing thunderstorm....

Ride to work day, eh? Well, I ride every day...

Today was special, though, because for some reason I was sloppy on the controls and the right side of my visor came undone from my helmet as I was about 100 yards from my driveway....

Special.

I did'nt see one other rider on the road. Granted, my commute is 7 miles, 3 of which is through a national park, but still.
Raining here this a.m. If I get caught out in the rain, that's life, but I generally won't start out on the bike if it's already raining. Commuter rush hour on I-295 is way too much fun on dry pavement without adding rain to the mix. Been averaging 4 days out of 5 on the bike this summer, tho'.

no rain here, and my bike was dry when i got on it this morning, but a few blocks down the street everything was wet :dunno:

I'm the same way, if its already raining I normally wont take the bike, but that has actually only happened I think once this year.

I would have ridden if it wasn't going to rain - been rain everyday this week. I think they have the day all wrong for this ride to work day - at least for the south. This time of year is notorious for having pop-up thunderstorms almost everyday. I'm pretty sure it was raining last year also. They should have it in May or June.

if I didnt ride under threat of rain I'd probably be riding about 10% as much as I do now.

As i live and work at same place, I rode to cafe for breakfast, and back home. Does this count?

i also basically live and work at the same place. but tonight i do have to go over to unc to lead a bible study. i was going to ride over for that (even though it would have caused me to have my first night ride experience) but we're supposed to have rain this afternoon. and if it's anything like the "hurricane" we got last night i would rather not be out in it. anyone else in the central part of nc knows what i'm talking about. i think we got enough rain to provide cali with a years supply last night.

i agree, for this part of the country, there are better months than july.
