"poo poo" kickers!

Wouldn't sneakers be considered slightly unsafe?

MSF Basic Rider Course - used my steel-toed, work boots

When I got my new bike, started out with the work boots, then switched to hiking boots for summer riding. Also didn't like how I couldn't get a good feel for the shifter in the work boots.

After a couple of hundred miles, I didn't like how the laces came undone on the hiking boots and switched to motorcycle boots, no laces. It's now August and I'm still using them.

I used to use hiking boots, but recently got me a pair of these.

Quite happy with them. They fit well, were pretty affordable, are waterproof (so far), got lots of armor, still comfortable to walk in, and they don't make me look like an undercover Power Ranger at work.

What exactly are those, Grey Thumper?

They're M2R Nordics. Pretty good protection for the money. They could be a little cooler, although I guess that's what you give up for waterproofing (note: I live in the tropics; they could be perfectly fine in the US).

I scanned a review from . . . I think it was Motorcycle Cruiser.

Very similar boots are also available with a Roadgear badge, for about $80 more.

I thought I was the only one riding around in skechers :P Those look very similar(not exactly) to the ones I use. They actually work pretty well and I found out, unintentionally, that they really are waterproof. The part that rises up is a bit soft though and I think I would like ones that are harder whenever I get new boots. (I did see these really nice ones at an outdoors type store, but they were really expensive)

Dainese Torque-Outs are what I wear. Great lower leg protection and a fairly thin toe profile so you can still get your toe under the shift lever easily. They are pricey but are well made and offer very solid protection.
