i didnt like the actual racing in burnout3 the crash mode was great though. but for racing its just too arcade style for me. eventually you have to boost the entire race to win that gets old real fast, my gf played it and unlocked everything though ha. i think for street racing arcade game style, midnight club dub is much better than burnout.

Actually, Burnout 3 is exactly what I was thinking of when I said:

GT4 doesn't reward you for hitting jumps, and you don't regain turbos for hitting flashing icons in the road (mainly because neither can be found in the game). ;)

Actually, one of my favourite racing games ever is Star Wars Ep. I: Pod Racer. :D It's not much for realism, but it's got all those nice bang 'em up qualities, plus once you hit the high-end units, just piloting the thing without blowing up at the slightest touch is a good challenge.

... Man, now I want to go out and get an old N64 just to play that again. Good times. Good times.
There are no jumps or flashing icons in the racing game.
You gain boost by driving into oncoming traffic, nearly missing a vehicle, forcing your opponent to crash, or powersliding.

Yeah, that's probably the better way to say what I'd ment. ;)

Some people prefer racing simulation, which is entirely different than arcade-style racing.

ah the good old games, i love road rash it was so fun to beat guys with chains and stuff
All I ever play, yep, all I ever play. Actually, that's wrong, only motorcycle game I ever play... and enjoy. But it has to be the original SEGA Genisis Road Rash. Numbers 1, 2, and 3 for Genisis are the best bike games ever, even though all you get to race are sports bikes.

OH, there's one for the original Playstation that wasn't bad, another Road Rash game, but there were sidecars, miltiplayer, and better weapons (ie; tasers, peperspray, and all the originals). I've also played the Harley Davidson game that they have in the arcades, my uncle wound up buying one for himself, since he can't ride nomore, so I can play for free. The game is SWEET (if you can get the hang of the controls, and the whole thing swaying under you, since it's full size)
