Im actaully getting a 30 gb mpg player mainly for riding bike. Seriously, sometimes I get so bored on the road. I'll actually start talking to myself, or humming music I WISH I had with me. Thinking about girls, school problems and other stresses start to settle in during long idle/highway periods. The whole point of riding is to escape these and have fun! :frusty:

If you're going to be riding at highway speeds (i.e. 55mph+) then earplugs are not only not unsafe, but probably more safe, according to my scientifically valid survey of 'i think so.'

You can't really hear much without earplugs once you hit 60 because the wind noise is so $!%!% loud. With good, industrial, noise-canceling earplugs, you still hear important sounds but fatigue is greatly reduced because you aren't going deaf from wind noise.

I've known riders who won't wear earplugs because they think it's unsafe, but I know that I am personally much more safe when I am alert and feeling good than when I'm exhausted and windblown.

I love riding my bike I just miss having music :) Does anyone here listen to music while they ride? I would think it would be a distraction, I know that my late step dads pan head had a radio on it. I thought about installing a radio onto my bike but I don't know if I'd be able to hear it
I ride a bike to get away from all that. I owned a full dresser with a radio and I never turned the damn thing on.
I can't understand why people need BS blaring in their ears to make it through the day. I see it every day on the road and in the gym. Maybe if people would take time to actually think a little, they might clear the cobwebs and rhetoric out of their brains and start thinking for themselves and not what multi-media and politicians tell them to think.
Try it. You'll learn what real freedom is all about. :D

I usually use an mp3 player at work, and just once or twice I left it on(in just one ear) on the way home and actually found it to be both a distraction and somewhat of an annoyance..lol :rocking: . But that's just me...I find I'm so focused on riding anything else just bothers me. does that sound strange? :dunno:
